Meet Dr. Sydney Walsh
Dr. Walsh graduated summa cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2022. She completed a Harvard Ophthalmology-affiliated residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, where she received advanced training in specialty contact lens fitting for complex corneal conditions. She is passionate about personalized eye care and advanced treatment approaches that help patients achieve their best vision and ocular health.
Dr. Walsh earned her Bachelor of Science degree, with minors in Chemistry and Neuroscience, before graduating summa cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2022.
Following optometry school, Dr. Walsh completed a Harvard Ophthalmology-affiliated residency program at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, where she received advanced training in fitting specialty contact lenses for complex corneal conditions. She has authored multiple publications in Eye & Contact Lens and is a recurring contributor to the “Fitting Challenges” segment of Review of Cornea and Contact Lenses. She has also presented contact lens case reports and clinical posters at national meetings, including the Global Specialty Lens Symposium and the American Academy of Optometry.
Through years of education and clinical experience, Dr. Walsh has developed expertise in complex contact lens fittings, myopia management, and dry eye disease. She is passionate about personalized eye care and using advanced treatment approaches to help patients achieve their best vision and ocular health.
Although she was born in Canada, Dr. Walsh grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is grateful to serve the community she considers home. Outside of the office, she enjoys book clubs, traveling with her husband, hiking the trails at the Whitewater Center, and exploring Charlotte’s newest restaurants.
