EyePrintPRO
The Highest Performance Scleral Lens Available
EyePrintPRO
- Beyond the Limits of Standard Scleral Contact Lenses
The majority of patients who come to Charlotte Contact Lens Institute are unable to see well with traditional soft contact lenses or glasses, conventional scleral contact lenses, and/or glasses. For patients who require specialty contact lenses, scleral contact lenses are typically recommended. EyePrintPRO offers the highest level of customization and performance out of any scleral contact lens that is available. Although they are the ultimate in performance, EyePrintPRO is not always necessary and many times there are other options available to patients. During the initial comprehensive exam, the doctor will utilize advanced technology and her in-depth experience in order to advise whether EyePrintPRO is a “need to have” or a “nice to have”.
Our doctors have established themselves as experts in the specialist area of contact lenses, and have treated hundreds of patients in custom contacts including EyePrintPRO, free-form scleral lenses, corneal gas permeable (GP) lenses, specialty soft contacts, and more. A typical initial exam is 1.5 to 2 hours of one-on-one time with the doctor, and during this time you will be presented with a variety of treatment options, including EyePrintPRO if there is a reason to consider it for your eyes.

EyePrintPRO is not just a specialized free-form scleral contact lens; it’s a groundbreaking prosthetic scleral device that accounts for the uniqueness of each individual’s ocular structure. With the understanding that no two people have the same eye topography, EyePrintPRO offers a custom solution, especially beneficial for patients with complex ocular conditions.
The EyePrint technology utilizes an impression-based method where a semi-liquid mold is gently placed on the patient’s eye, accurately capturing the distinct shapes of both the cornea and the sclera (the white part of the eye). Patients often describe this painless process as feeling like a cool liquid being applied to the eye. This detailed impression is then used to craft a one-of-a-kind contact lens using state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology to perfectly matches the eye’s contours. The accuracy of EyePrint lenses is incredibly precise, up to 2 microns (with 1 micron being one-thousandth of a millimeter), ensuring an exceptionally tailored fit.
The precision of EyePrintPRO technology is evident in its ability to fit 95% of patients within the first two fittings, a remarkable achievement considering it’s often used in special scenarios and advanced cases where traditional scleral lenses fall short.
EyePrintPRO is adept at treating a wide range of conditions, such as keratoconus, corneal grafts, severe dry eye disease, and other forms of corneal irregularities. It’s particularly effective for those with unique eyes or specific conditions, offering a level of precision and comfort unmatched by traditional scleral lenses.EyePrintPRO can also be used for patients with glaucoma blebs or stents due to its ability to precisely match the elevation changes related to these glaucoma procedures.
EyePrintPRO exemplifies how advanced technology can transform lives by offering improved vision and comfort. It embodies our commitment to employing state-of-the-art solutions for the best possible patient care. Whether you’re dealing with a complex ocular condition or seeking a more comfortable and effective vision solution, EyePrintPRO could be the answer.

In the Southeast United States there are only a handful of doctor’s offices who are certified to fit EyePrintPRO. Of these offices, Charlotte Contact Lens Institute is the only EyePrintPRO certified fitter who is known to exclusively treat specialty contact lens patients. Remarkable customer service, advanced technology, and atypical access to the doctor are three ways in which our office is special. Patients can expect to not only spend 100% of their exam time one-on-one with the doctor, but they will also have the ability to contact the doctor with questions after their appointment.
